Communities
of Practice

A Community of Practice (CoP) is a group of people who share a concern or a passion for something they do and actively learn by exchanging knowledge to ultimately improve practice.

The Equity Science Lab proudly hosts two Communities of Practice dedicated to advancing equity in diverse settings and contexts: PHEN and KTEA.

Two networks. One mission.

PHEN

Why Communities of Practice?

Where science
meets community.

Our Communities of Practice are living networks — spaces where researchers, practitioners, and community members build shared knowledge, challenge assumptions, and move evidence into action. The most powerful evidence is the kind that communities recognise as their own.

Shared Domain

Members share a common concern or passion — in our case, advancing equity in health and social systems.

Community

Members build relationships through joint activities, discussions, and helping each other — across disciplines, roles, and geographies.

Shared Practice

Members develop shared resources, tools, experiences, and ways of addressing recurring problems — turning knowledge into action.

Ready to
get involved?

Our communities welcome researchers, practitioners, policy-makers, and community members. If either PHEN or KTEA resonates with your work, reach out — we'd love to have you.
