In response to valuable feedback from our members, the Leadership Team proposed a name change for our community by the end of 2023. Formerly known as the British Columbia Coalition Institute (BCCI), our community transformed into the Pacific-Northwest Health Equity Network (PHEN) for three main reasons:
The "Coalition" aspect, once central to our community, evolved into the Canadian Association for Global Health (CAGH).
Our work extends beyond an "institute" (which implies a specific event); we've grown into a dynamic "community of practice" with diverse activities.
We expanded our collaborations with partners beyond BC, including the Center for One Health Research at the University of Fairbanks, Alaska.
