bridge research consortium
goal
address challenges related to vaccination mis/disinformation, public trust, and equitable access
The Bridge Research Consortium (BRC) is a national collaboration of scholars designed to increase knowledge of and strategies to address challenges related to vaccination mis/disinformation, public trust, and equitable access. This project is co-led by Dr. Kelley Lee (Simon Fraser University) and Dr. Ève Dubé (Laval University).
Health equity is a focus in this work. The BRC project will prioritize learning about the needs of priority populations including Indigenous, racialized, and rural/remote communities.
Katrina Plamondon and team are leading a complementary, responsive BRC Dialogue Platform, which aims to: 1. Ignite dialogue on emergent issues and implications of results of research, convening people affected by or connected to priorities within the nexus of vaccine equity, accessibility, and acceptability in Canada. and 2. Equip people involved in the Bridge Research Consortium and others connected to Canada's Immuno-Engineering and Biomanufacturing Hub, particularly those in the life and engineering sciences, regulators, and industry partners, with support and tools for integrating evidence-informed equity principles and practices in their efforts.
This contribution to BRC builds on the leadership from the Equity Science Lab, including the SOLVE study which had the goal of re-imagining governance for a more equitable future in terms of COVID vaccine responses and access, and on our expertise in governance, public engagement and deliberative dialogue.
